What does "Certified" mean?

Several Fitness Boot Camps are "Self-Certified". They are usually operated by individuals that have been trained and certified to run different programs in fitness. A Certified Personal Trainer has different knowledge and training than a Certified Group Fitness Instructor.

B.C. Adventure Boot Camp has been specifically trained and certified to run a fitness boot camp. We also have a minimum certification of a personal trainer.

We are Certified and Internationally accredited by NESTA (National Endurance and Sports Trainers Association).

NESTA is a governing body in fitness dedicated to maintaining and setting a standard in the fitness industry. Currently there is NO legislation in Canada protecting the consumer from unsafe and non-certified individuals in the fitness industry. We recommend that you thoroughly research ANY fitness program and organization you are considering to protect yourself against any unsafe and non-certified programs.

What is the sign-up process?

pre boot camp assesment
  • Introduction to Boot Camp and answers to any more questions you may have. Your medical history will also be reviewed.
  • You will have some simple measurements done to see "where you are" prior to beginning camp. We don't care what the measurements show. It is strictly for a post-camp comparison. These numbers and all other information are strictly confidential. We can modify exercises if your back, neck, or shoulders are sore or previously injured.
  • Fitness testing will take place on day 4 & 16. Timed 1.6 km or 1 mile run, and a push-up test.
  • You will be weighed. Again, the number doesn't matter. We just want to see improvement.
  • Next, your body fat is measured. Expect a 3-8% reduction over the four weeks.
  • You will be given your official Boot Camp T-shirt.

What is a typical day like at camp?

That's difficult to say since each day is intentionally different to alleviate boredom. You can expect Pilates, mat work, some running (less than 3Km), weight training, obstacle courses, and jumping rope each week. On special days, we will go hiking and play sports-related games. It's always an adventure, and you'll always have fun! BC Adventure Boot Camps coaches teach you a great deal about proper form and "core stability."
